This is a life-size Raven, a fabulous sculpture! Ravens are naturally collectors, and often they 'appreciate' bright and shiny objects. this particular Raven has amassed a collection of Gold and Silver coins, Silver and Gold Bars, an assortment of Gemstones and even a 1933 Saint Gaudens Double Eagle! Another interesting item is the ram horn he is perched atop, it comes from the extinct Texas or Texian Bighorn Ram, a subspecies of the Desert Bighorn...and happens to be cast from the largest specimen in existence. | |||

Time and time again the Cowboy has been portrayed in Paintings and Sculpture bringing in the lost calf, slung over the front of his saddle...through snow, rain, or wind...uphill and down...It is a scene created many times by many artists. So, it would seem that any self-respecting artist should continue this tradition of Cowboy lore... Here I have created the Cowboy bringing in the “calves” (she has nice legs!)...And she’s none too happy about it either! Her head resting on one hand, she shows a bit of a fiery spirit with the look on her face! He has a slight grin (or grimace), one hand on her rump, and reining with the other. He may be giving second thoughts about his decision to bring this one home! In making this sculpture, I wanted to create it to look like a serious Western Bronze from across the room, until one looks close enough to realize what’s going on…A very fun and unusual sculpture to add to your collection! I hope you enjoy this humorous twist on a traditional theme. |
